The fund will award 2,000 grants of $1,000 each to Chicagoans. Chicago residents experiencing temporary financial hardships due to COVID-19 can apply online or over the phone through community-based organizations before TONIGHT, Wednesday, April 1, at 11:59 p.m. Applicants will be required to demonstrate their economic challenges by showing a recent unemployment insurance claim or notification of employment status change (i.e. hour or pay reduction) as well as proof of household income at or below 60% of the area median income prior to employment changes.
