A Word From Our New CEO
Greetings, Students, Families, Teachers, and Staff –
Last week I took the helm as CICS’s new CEO, and I am thrilled to be here. I bring to CICS energy, experience, and a deep commitment to ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed in college, careers, and life. I have spent my career working for students and families as a teacher, instructional coach, district- and state-level leader, and policy leader. A native Chicagoan and former CPS student myself, I am passionate about improving education in our city and providing great schools for Chicago’s students.
CICS is a dedicated and talented network of students, families, and educators, and I am grateful to join you. I plan to support the great work already underway in our schools and move our network forward. The CICS network and our students have bright futures and boundless potential. Together, we will work in partnership to ensure that all CICS students – present and future – have the opportunities they deserve.
I will spend the coming weeks and months listening and learning so I can better understand and serve CICS students, families, schools, and communities. I look forward to hearing from you, meeting you, and keeping you updated on the progress of our CICS schools.
