Maggie Dillier is CICS’ Director of Curriculum & Assessment and will be working to design curriculum and assessment strategy across grades K to 12. As a curriculum leader, she specializes in big-picture systems thinking, backwards design, Common Core standards and shifts, and building positive professional culture. Maggie transitioned into leadership during her tenure at a charter school in Massachusetts, where she taught half-time (Performing Arts, grades 4-6) and mentored teachers and designed curriculum the other half of the time. Finding that instructional leadership was her true love, she pursued it full-time as Dean of Curriculum and Instruction, grades 1 to 5, and then as Assistant Principal. Having spent 10 years in Boston, Maggie is thrilled to return to Chicago, where she spent her formative years at Northwestern University (first as an undergraduate in theatre, then for a masters in elementary education), and where her brother currently lives – two houses down. She enjoys design of all kinds and is enjoying decorating her new space in Lincoln Park.
