Facilities Manager 

Mike Merced brings his extensive expertise as the Facilities Manager overseeing Chicago International Charter Schools at Irving Park, Northtown Academy, West Belden, and Bucktown campuses. In this role, he steers facility operations, construction projects, and maintenance procedures, all with a steadfast commitment to ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for students and staff. Mike's diligent work includes close collaboration with vendors and contractors to create secure, clean, and aesthetically pleasing school spaces for the community.

With over 25 years of experience in general construction and project management, Mike is well-equipped for this vital role. Additionally, he holds a real estate license, adding a valuable layer of knowledge to his skill set.

Born and raised in Chicago, Mike's formative years were also enriched by time spent in Puerto Rico. His love for warm weather, the great outdoors, bicycling, and unwavering support for Chicago sports teams reflect his active lifestyle. Mike is happily married to his wife, Amy, and together they have one adult child and two kids still at home. Their favorite family adventures involve beach trips and exploring scenic trails. Furthermore, Mike and his family are deeply committed to volunteer work within their community and local church, participating in various ministries.
