CICS LONGWOOD PRINCIPAL BUILDING A SENSE OF BELONGING FOR STUDENTS

Watch as Growth Accelerator Principal Maria Freeman shares how the Accelerate Framework’s “Constructive Environment” driver inspired her school leadership team at Chicago International Charter School - Longwood High School to help build a stronger sense of belonging for scholars by establishing student advisory committees.

 

Student advisories committees are comprised of several students for each grade level, 9th-12th, that serve as the student voices for their respective classes. This model has promoted healthy collaboration among students and teachers while empowering them to use their superpowers for good on their campus and in the community.
